Bail plea dismissed

CHENNAI: The bail petition of Banu, prime suspect in the murder of Vijayan alias Vijayakumar (kin of former Chief Minister M.G. Ramachandran) was dismissed by a sessions court here on Monday.

The Crime Branch CID, who arrested Banu, pointed out that the case was in a preliminary stage of investigation and enlarging the accused on bail could lead to tampering of the evidence. — Special Correspondent
