Certificate verification for teachers’ recruitment begins

TIRUCHI: A total of 195 candidates turned up at the E.R. Higher Secondary School, where the three-day certificate verification of the Teachers’ Recruitment Board for B.T. Assistants began on Monday.

Nearly 360 candidates from the districts of Tiruchi, Karur and Perambalur were invited on the first day with call letters for the certificate verification for B.T. Assistants in three subjects: Tamil, English and Mathematics. One candidate appeared for Tamil, 39 for English and the rest for Mathematics. Certificate verification for the remaining subjects will be undertaken on Tuesday and Wednesday, official sources said, adding that the invited candidates who had missed to attend on the specified date could get their certificates verified anytime within the three-day duration.

Since sufficient number of candidates did not turn up for certificate verification on the previous occasion when about 7,900 teachers were posted in the State, this time around, 15,000 candidates have been sent call letters as per seniority in the employment exchange registration for the posting of over 7,500 candidates.

Under the supervision of the Joint Director of Education – Rajarajeswari and Joint Director of Teachers’ Recruitment Board Arokiyasami, teams led by the Chief Educational Officer of Tiruchi K. Swaminathan; CEO – SSA, Tiruchi, Amuthavalli; Karur CEO Kandasamy; Perambaour CEO – SSA, Thangamani, and district educational officers carried out the verification.
