Award for ANU professor

GUNTUR: Acharya Nagarjuna University Hindi Department coordinator Sk. Moulali has been awarded the prestigious ‘Vajra Puraskar’ by a Mathura (Uttar Pradesh)-based organisation Asara Samajika Samskrutik Manavata Seva Samstha.

He gets the award for his contribution to Hindi language and his writings on patronage of Hindi among Andhrites.

This is the ninth such award Sk. Moulali had received during his illustrious career.

The men’s and women’s hostels will soon have two new dining halls with a capacity to seat 600 students at a time.

While the new women’s hostel building under construction will get the new dining hall, the existing men’s hostel blocks will be provided the facility, Acharya Nagarjuna University authorities told student unions during an interactive programme on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the university is getting ready for the NAAC accreditation committee’s visit in October and it appealed to the student community to cooperate with the authorities.

Train halt

The Guntur-Macherla passenger train will have a one-minute stop at Nallapadu railway station in both directions.

The Guntur Divisional Railway press release said that the train No. 419 Guntur-Macherla leaving Guntur at 5.50 p.m. will stop at Nallapadu at 6 p.m. In the return direction, train No. 420 leaves Macherla at 4.40 p.m. and stop at Nallapadu at 7. 12 p.m. and depart for Guntur at 19.13 p.m.

PCI nod

Chalapathi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (CIPS) received approval from the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) for its B. Pharmacy course, which will allow the students passing out from the institution to register as pharmacist.

The college Principal N. Rama Rao in a release said that those who had joined this course through the EAMCET-2004 and passed out would be able to register with the A.P. State Pharmacy Council.
