PATANCHERU (Medak Dt.): Senior BJP leader M. Venkaiah Naidu here on Tuesday said that only national parties could form a separate Telangana and it was only the BJP which could do that as the ruling Congress had failed to do so.

Addressing the media here along with the State unit president Bandaru Dattatreya, he said that no political party had a clear stand on the Telangana issue, whereas the BJP was committed to the cause.

Hung Assembly

Referring to the current political situation in the State, Mr. Naidu predicted that no single party could form a government after the next general elections.

“Every political party is trying to have an alliance with other parties as they are doubtful about the majority. The ruling Congress will not come back as both the TRS and Left parties have parted ways,” he said, adding that the Praja Rajyam established by Chiranjeevi would have an impact on the State’s politics. He said the BJP would go it alone in the next elections.

Later, addressing the Telangana Sankalpa Yatra programme taken up by Mr Dattatreya, Mr. Venkaiah Naidu said that the programme was taken up to create awareness among people. Mr. Dattreya alleged that injustice was being meted out to Telangana and the formation of a separate State alone could solve the problems.
