ireboot’s hands-on experience from Sunday Bangalore: If you are looking to change the direction of your career or are at the crossroads while deciding what it should be like, ireboot.in gives you the chance to do so. Allowing you a hands-on, “a day in the life of…” kind of experience with the sort of job you are seeking, is ireboot’s Student Career Direction Programme (SCDP) for students in classes nine to 12, from September 28. The SCDP, a first-time initiative of ireboot that was started by two executive programme alumni from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, includes a seminar on various career options. This will be followed by a “test drive” of up to three “dream careers” which will take place between October 6 and 11. Each “test drive” will last a day and the students will get a chance to experience the unfolding of their “dream careers”. The students will spend a day under the guidance of their mentors, learning from them about their dream professions. To make the experience effective, an iReboot Journal for documenting the programme will be provided to each student. The team at iReboot does not believe in aptitude tests. They say, “Each student is special. We cannot let a database decide careers for them. We help students own their decisions, victories and losses through the hands-on experience.” © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
