MCD to give Rs 5 lakh to Inspector Sharma’s kin

NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi would be presenting a cheque for Rs.5 lakh to the family of Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma who lost his life in the encounter at Jamia Nagar this past week.

Announcing this on Wednesday, Delhi Mayor Arti Mehra said she along with senior functionaries of the MCD would visit the residence of the police officer at Dwarka to hand over the cheque to his family. The Mayor also disclosed that the Pankha Road-Dabri crossing flyover now under construction would be named after Inspector Sharma.
