Gowda calls on Jyoti Basu

KOLKATA: The former Prime Minister and president of the Janata Dal (Secular), H.D. Deve Gowda, called on veteran Marxist leader Jyoti Basu at his Salt Lake residence on Wednesday. At a press conference later, Mr. Gowda said the attacks on Christians in Karnataka was “sponsored” by the BJP government. — Special Correspondent
