Jewellery stolen

Arni: A total of 100 sovereigns of gold jewellery and Rs.15,000 in cash were stolen from a rice merchant’s house near Arni on Wednesday.

Appandairaj, a resident of Pudu Kamur near Arni, and his family members were sleeping in their house when a gang of five persons broke open the rear door and entered the house . They threatened the family members to part with the bureau keys. The robbers took the jewellery and cash and fled.
