BSP activist shot dead in Allahabad

Allahabad: Tension gripped the city outskirts after a BSP activist was shot dead, even as agitated supporters blocked traffic on Allahabad-Kanpur highway, demanding immediate arrest of the assailants.

Police said, Dinesh Singh alias Sonu, a resident of the neighbouring Kaushambi district, was shot dead and one person was arrested in this connection.

The deceased was allegedly involved in a murder case two years ago and police suspect the crime as a sequel to the “old enmity”.
