Absconder held after 10 years

CHENNAI: A suspect who went absconding about 10 years ago was arrested in Tiruvannamalai on Thursday.

Police said Mano alias Manohar (40) was arrested in connection with a few theft cases. After his release on bail, the accused absconded. During a routine verification of fingerprints, State Crime Record Bureau officials found Mano’s fingerprints matching those recorded in a theft case at Tiruvannamalai.

A special team of the Kottivakkam arrested Mano at Tiruvannamalai, who was living there in the name of Shankar. He was produced in a city court and remanded to judicial custody, police added.
