KOCHI: There may be hundreds of people who think that political parties have degenerated and are unable to take up people’s causes. What could be the right course of action in this scenario? Form another party. That is what P.Vijayan Pillai has decided to do. He is in the process of organising people across the State behind a new party to be launched on October 2. The new party will be known as Janavidhi. “The party shuns hypocrisy and wants to put an end to corruption”, says Mr. Pillai. It will be devoted to the service of people, he vows. That is not all. The party will field 170 candidates including 47 women in the Assembly elections in 2011. He is no novice to politics. The man had a brief association with a political party. He was unhappy with the party and resigned from it before deciding on the new course. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
