With determination: Data entry work in full swing at the Krishnagiri Collectorate. – KRISHNAGIRI: Work on special summary revision of photo electorol rolls is in full swing in Krishnagiri district Collectorate. This is necessitated after the delimitation of the Uthangarai (SC), Burgur, Krishnagiri, Veppanahalli, Hosur and Thali Assembly constituencies within the Krishnagiri Parliament constituency. More than 50 people are working in the District Electroal Office Computer room for the purpose. The form-6 for inclusion of names in electoral rolls are being entered into the data base of the election department. The data entry workers are being paid 43 paise for one entry. Junior Assistants recruited for the distribution of free televisions and electoral photo identity cards in all taluks are deputed for the work. Revision of photo identification of electoral rolls will be finished possibly by October 1, 2008, and then an eliminaion of duplication of electorates will be undertaken with the special software for the purpose. Photos pasted in Form –6 of the electorates are being scanned at the Revenue Divisional Office in Krishnagiri. This work has been outsourced to a private agency, Bharathi Data Entry Limited from Chennai. Different data entry agencies are appointed in each district, the Deputy Tahsildhar V. Natarajan told The Hindu. Revised final rolls may be published in mid October, Mr. Natarajan added. There are 99,804 fresh application forms for the inclusion of names in the six assembly constituencies.
