Jayalalithaa to unveil MGR statue

CHENNAI: A statue of AIADMK founder MGR will be unveiled by party general secretary Jayalalithaa at Rasipuram on October 17, to mark the 37th anniversary of the party.

A release from the party headquarters said Ms. Jayalalithaa would address a public meeting that day. A souvenir would be released.

The party also announced demonstration against the power cut. It would be held in front of the Salem district collectorate, Ms. Jayalalithaa said in a statement. — Special Correspondent
