Aditya Patel finishes 10th

CHENNAI: National champion Aditya Patel finished a creditable 10th in the second night race of the Formula BMW Pacific at the Singapore Grand Prix Marina Bay street circuit on Saturday.

The young racer from Chennai started last on the grid — 17th — but moved up smartly to eighth place with one lap remaining when misfortune struck. One of the cars hit Aditya’s from behind, forcing the Indian to spin off. He, however, continued the race to finish in 10th place.

In the rookies category, Aditya took the third spot. All in all, a great weekend for this promising racer.
