German woman abducted, molested in Chandigarh

Chandigarh: A young German woman was allegedly molested by a group of men in the city early on Sunday.

According to the victim, she stepped out of a hotel in Sector 17 around 2 a.m. when a youth approached her and pushed her into a waiting Scorpio SUV. She said she was forcibly kept in the vehicle for two hours and then dropped outside the house of a friend in the city.

The police have filed a case of attempt to rape, abduction, molestation and illegal confinement under the IPC against the unidentified youth. The woman had come to the city with an NRI for his wedding. Assistant SP Madhur Verma said: “We are investigating the matter and shall be making a few arrests very soon.”
