Mr. Stalin, also deputy general secretary of the party, had directed the organising of the competitions across the State as a means of reaching out to the youth to explain the objectives of the party and the contributions of the Chief Minister. The competitions received an overwhelming response, he said. South Chennai district secretary of the party, J.Anbazhagan, said that he was flooded with participants for most sports and games events and had do conduct them on a massive scale by organising the events in more venues and for a longer period of time. “It began around the time of the Chief Minister’s birthday in June. Now it is September. We have just concluded the competitions,” he said. All the games had a good amount as prize money and this was the incentive for many serious teams to take part in the competition, he added.
