Fire at chemical pipeline

A fire broke out at a pipeline of a private fertilizer plant at Pipeline Junction at Malkapuram on Sunday night. Liquid sulphur was unloaded using the pipeline. Teams on constant patrol during operations immediately alerted officials. Fire tenders from the neighbouring industrial units like HPCL and the Port and the Navy were also called and it was put out in 10 minutes. Officials described it as a minor fire. The fire in the industrial hub caused an alarm in view of the potential danger it could pose.
