Narrow win

VIJAYAWADA: President’s XI scored a two-run victory over Secretary’s XI in the ACA u-19 women’s inter-zonal tournament at IGMC Stadium here on Monday. S. Mounica Sai’s 80 for President’s XI was the highlight of the day.

The scores: President’s XI 157 for nine in 50 overs (S. Mounica Sai 80) bt Secretary’s XI 155 in 48.2 overs (S. Hima Bindu three for 31).

Siddhartha sparkles

Siddhartha Reddy’s 74 enabled South Zone to pile up 257 for nine in 90 overs against North Zone in the three-day ACA u-14 inter-zonal tournament at Anantapur, according to information reaching here on Monday. South Zone registered a 40-run first innings lead over North Zone.

The scores: North Zone 217 and 106 for two in 33 overs (Shyam Sundar 54 n.o) vs. South Zone 257 for nine in 90 overs (Siddhartha Reddy 74, Ashwin Hebbar 51, Siva Kumar four for 70).

Selection trials

Krishna District Sports Authority will conduct district-level selection trials to government civil servants at IGMC Stadium from October 13 to 15.

The trials to Group I segment will be conducted in athletics, badminton, bridge, basketball, carrom and chess on October 13, while for Group II the trials will be conducted in cricket, football, hockey, kabaddi and tennis on October 14.
