Man arrested for murdering wife

CHENNAI: One person was arrested on charges of murdering his wife at Pallavaram on Monday.

Police said M. Arul (36) of Pallavaram picked a quarrel with his wife A. Jeeva (36) on Sunday night. An enraged Arul poured kerosene on his wife and set her ablaze.

The victim suffered grievous burns and died a few hours after admission in Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital. The accused was remanded to judicial custody.
