Id-ul-Fitr celebrated with gaiety

Sacred offering: Muslims offering prayers on Ramzan, at Idgah grounds, in Tiruchi on Wednesday.

TIRUCHI: Id-ul-Fitr, the Festival of Charity, was celebrated with usual gaiety in various parts of Tiruchi, Pudukottai and Perambalur districts on Wednesday.

Special kutba prayers were held in Idgahs and mosques in these districts. A large congregation of Muslims participated in the prayer in the Idgah at Cantonment in the city. A large number of them also offered prayers at the Palakkarai Panch Minar Mosque, Khanmiyan Mosque, Hazarath Thable Alam Badhusha Dargah Mosque, Mohammad Jamiya Mosque at Chowk, Hasan Bagh Mosque on NSB Road, the Thennur High Road Mosque and Jamal Mohammad College Mosque.

The Government Town Khazi, Moulvi Jaleel Sultan Alim Manbayee participated in the prayers at Gulam Ali Khan Mosque, Sheik Islamic Zubedar Masjid both at Woraiyur.

Nawab Zaba led the congregation at Ameer Mosque at Beerangi Kulam. At the Idgah near the Fort Station, Hafiz Basha, led the congregation.

Muslims distributed poor-rate before offering prayers. The significance of this charity is to enable even the poor people to join the rich in the celebrations.

Special Id-ul-Fitr prayers were held at all the 13 mosques here where assistance was offered to the poor. They offered prayers at the Jumma Masjid Noor Mosque, Nizami Mosque, Al-Aksa Mosque.

A large number of muslims participated in the prayers at Moulana Madarsa Mosque and Imam Mosque. Special congregations were held at the mosques in Thuraimangalam, Labbaikudikadu besides the Noor Mosque and Mecca Mosque.

A large gathering assembled at the Syed Musthafa Aulia Mosque in T. Kalathur, Jamia Masjid and Milleth Nagar Mosque both in V. Kalathur and the Jimma Masjid at Arumbavur.

Special ‘dua’ (prayer) was offered at the end for world peace and communal harmony. People from other religions greeted the muslims brethren on the occasion.
