Bishops welcome PM’s assurance

NEW DELHI: The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India has welcomed the assurance given by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to the European Union that anti-Christian violence in the country would be curbed. The Prime Minister had expressed his deep anguish at the violence against Christians and dubbed it a “national shame”. He also assured the Christian community that the Government would protect their Constitutional rights.
