New Delhi: Jamia Millia Islamia University Vice-Chancellor Mushirul Hasan on Thursday regretted that there were hardly any books written on Islam and non-violence. “We have a room full of books written on Islam and violence but surprisingly we don’t have literature on Islam and non-violence,” he said while addressing a function here marking Gandhi Jayanti. While talking about Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan who exemplified non-violence and led a peace movement among the ethnics in Afghanistan, Dr. Hasan wondered why very little has been written about him. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
