Innings win for Nagapattinam

NAGAPATTINAM: Arun Nivas’s all-round performance (96 and six for 39) helped Nagapattinam score an innings win over Vellore and book a place in the quarterfinals of the TNCA u-14 inter-district cricket tournament here on Thursday.

The scores (pre-quarterfinals): At Nagapattinam: Vellore 50 and 102 in 38.3 overs (Arun Nivas six for 39) lost to Nagapattinam 237 for four in 90 overs (Siddharth 104, Arun Nivas 96).

At Dindigul: Dindigul 88 and 50 for nine in 21.2 overs (Manikandakarthikbalaji five for 17, Harivignesh three for 13) lost to Salem 284 for three in 90 overs (Manoj Kumar 172 n.o., Deepak Siddharth 80).

At Sivaganga: Sivaganga 85 and 134 for five in 40 overs (S. Pandidurai 81 n.o.) lost to Madurai 240 in 89.3 overs (Syed Ibrahim 111, Pannerselvam three for 35, Pradeep three for 79).

At Tiruchi: Tiruchi 152 in 71.5 overs (Prathap Joseph Aruldoss 45, M. Gokulakrishnan 35, B. Jayanth 34, Arularasan three for 18) vs. Puducherry 36 for two in 21 overs.

MSP Nadar wins

MSP Nadar Memorial HSS (Dindigul) defeated Mani HSS (Coimbatore) by six wickets to win the title in the TNCA u-16 inter-district schools cricket tournament here on Thursday.

MSP Nadar Memorial HSS had lost its semifinal encounter against Modern SSS (Kancheepuram) on Wednesday. But later in the day, the latter was disqualified after it was found that it had participated in the same tournament conducted for city schools at Chennai.

The scores: Final: Mani HSS 112 for six in 30 overs (Umashankar 37) lost to MSP Nadar Memorial HSS 116 for four in 29.1 overs (Thangadurai 42, S. Karthik 36 n.o.).

SDAT hockey league
