Coimbatore in last eight

COIMBATORE: Coimbatore scored an innings and 283-run win over Theni and entered the quarterfinals of the TNCA under-14 inter-district cricket tournament here on Thursday.

Overnight 254 for two, the host boosted its score to 442 for four in the allotted 90 overs. After Hari Nishanth (160) bludgeoned the Theni attack, J. Koushik scored an unbeaten 117.

The scores (pre-quarterfinals): Theni 53 & 106 in 30 overs (Vignesh Karthick three for 18, Goutham three for 26) lost to Coimbatore 442 for four in 90 overs (Hari Nishanth 160, Nishanth 67, J. Koushik 117 n.o., Rushab Bafna 39 n.o.).

Miracle CC posts win

Miracle Cricket Club posted a 78-run win over Vivekananda Seva Trust in the Canara Bank-CDCA fourth division league for the Tirupur Textiles Trophy here on Thursday.

The scores: Fourth division: Cosmo Village SA ‘B’ 159 in 45.5 overs lost to Janaranjani SC 160 for four in 39.3 overs (Vignesh Manikandan 60).
