The checking squad of the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), in its drive against ticketless passenger in BMTC buses, checked the buses operated in and around Bangalore city last week. The squad checked 5,154 trips and detected 2,002 ticketless passengers and a penalty of Rs. 1.74 lakh has been collected from them, according to a BMTC release. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
