Student drowns

Manipal: A student, who had gone for swimming in Swarna river, is reported to have drowned on Thursday.

According to the Manipal Police, Shilpi Reddy (18), a student of Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), along with his friends, had gone for a swim in the Swarna here and met a watery grave. A case has been registered.

Man electrocuted

A person was electrocuted while working on an electric pole at Avaralu in Palimar village under the Padubidri police limits on Thursday.

Padubidri Police have identified the deceased as Shivakumar (26). A case has been registered.
