A day to remember

Gandhi Jayanthi will now be remembered grudgingly, by many smokers in the country. With the ban on smoking in public places effective from October 2, there were quite a few voices of dissent that were heard. Not just from the ‘affected’ but also from the restaurants and pub-owners who now have to designate a ‘smoking zone’.

And then there are the others, who are treating October 2 as January 1 boldly talking about ‘Gandhi Jayanti Resolution’ to quit smoking, while a few others are sure that this ban would be as ineffective as the ban on gutka is.
