Madikeri: Members of the Kodagu Hindu Jagarana Vedike, on Friday, appealed to Deputy Commissioner K.R. Niranjan to take steps to rein in certain people and organisations in the district that were working to create a divide among the communities. In a memorandum submitted to Mr. Niranjan, the members, who named the persons in the district, said they (those named in the memorandum) were responsible for the attacks on a prayer hall in Siddapura recently and also the attack on a worker of a Hindu organisation at Polibetta. These persons were also supporting cow slaughter and sale of meat in Kodagu, they alleged. They should spare no one involved in disturbing peace in the district, the members urged. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
