Atit, Mohan on course

KOCHI: Coronation Club’s Atit B. Shah, the defending champion, defeated Lotus Club’s M. Pratap 3-0 and marched into the semifinals of the 49th Kerala State senior snooker championship at the Regional Sports Centre here on Saturday.

Earlier, in billiards, defending champion Mohan George of the Regional Sports Centre, the host club, entered the final after defeating the young Viraj Ruparel 518-337.

Snooker: quarterfinals: Atit B. Shah (Coronation, Mattancherry) bt M. Pratap (Lotus, Ekm) 55-25, 59-47, 54-23.

Pre-quarterfinals: P. Vinod (RSC, Ekm) bt Alphan Roy (KDH, Munnar) 30-50, 67-31, 37-33, 73-8; Pratap bt Summer Singh (KDH) 40-31, 59-39, 48-30; Viraj Ruparel bt V.M. Mohammed Arshad (Rama Varma Club, Ekm) 62-15, 64-16, 34-45, 39-36.
