Coimbatore takes on Kancheepuram

Tirupur: Coimbatore edged out Tiruchi 14-25, 25-10, 25-12, 23-25, 15-12 and entered the boys’ final of the State sub-junior volleyball championship here on Saturday.

In the final, Coimbatore will take on Kancheepuram, which defeated Tirunelveli 25-22, 25-20, 25-16. Earlier, Chennai got past Coimbatore 25-18, 25-14, 25-16 for a place in the girls’ final. Erode did likewise defeating Nagapattinam 25-14, 25-10, 25-18.

The results: Boys third place: Tiruchi bt Tirunelveli 25-19, 25-22.

Semifinals: Coimbatore bt Tiruchi 14-25, 25-10, 25-12, 23-25, 15-12, Kancheepuram bt Tirunelveli 25-22, 25-20, 25-16.

Girls third place: Coimbatore bt Nagapattinam 21-25, 29-27, 25-20. Semifinals: Chennai bt Coimbatore 25-18, 25-14, 25-16, Erode bt Nagapattinam 25-14, 25-10, 25-18.
