New Delhi: The heart valves of 22-year-old Deepu who died at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences Trauma Centre on Friday of injuries sustained in the Mehrauli bomb blast here on September 27 have been retrieved by doctors for use on a needy patient. The family of the deceased agreed to organ donation and the trauma centre Medical Superintendent Dr. M.C. Misra said: “We realised that the body had extensive damage so we have managed to retrieve the heart valves which can now be used for a needy patient.” © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
