Dasara festivities at Sree Peetham

Kakinada: Thousands of devotees had darsan of goddess Kamakshi at Sree Peetham here on Sunday during the Dasara festival. A large number of unmarried girls invoked the blessings of the goddess by performing `Katyayani vratam’. Peetham founder Sri Paripoornananda Swami explained the spiritual significance of the `Kamakshi kamadayini’ mantra. Sree Peetham provides the golden opportunity to those unable to go to Kancheepuram, to have darsan of Kamakshi Devi here itself. The goddess will be adorned in `Saraswati alankarana on Monday.
