NEW DELHI: A major fire broke out in a footwear factory at Kirti Nagar here on Sunday. Two firemen sustained minor injuries in the fire-fighting operation. According to the Fire Service Department, the fire broke out on the ground floor of the building around 4 a.m. and 15 fire tenders were rushed to the spot. It took the firemen more than five hours to douse the flames. The fire was apparently caused by a short-circuit. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
