Mayor inspects treatment

CHENNAI: Mayor M. Subramanian on Sunday visited the Communicable Diseases Hospital in Tondiarpet to monitor the treatment given to patients with acute diarrhoeal diseases (ADD).

The Mayor said that Metrowater officials would frequently check residual chlorine levels in drinking water supply.

The Corporation would hold health camps in slums and congested localities to provide chlorine tablets and offer treatment for residents with symptoms of ADD.

This year, about 230 cases have been registered as on date but there have been no incidence of cholera, the Mayor said.

Any complaints or symptoms could be reported to the Corporation through the helpline 1913.
