Jewellery stolen

CHENNAI: Burglars broke into a house in West Mogappair and decamped with 20 sovereigns of gold jewellery.

Police said the burglary came to light after the owners returned from Madurai Sunday evening.

According to police, the house of Raja Jagadeeshan, a customs officer, was targeted after he and his family had gone to Madurai on September 30.

The culprits had gained access after breaking open a grill on the rear of the house.
