CHENNAI: An unidentified person, who called the Police Control Room here on Sunday, wanted the Chief Minister, M. Karunanidhi, to intervene on the Tamil Eelam issue. He warned of attack on Mr. Karunanidhi’s family and also threatened to cause disturbance in the State if his demand was not met. On instructions from Commissioner of Police R. Sekar, sleuths of the Cyber Crime Cell traced the call to a Public Call Office in Karur. The caller made no reference to any specific organisation, the police said. “While alerting the local police, we have sent a special team to Karur to apprehend the suspect,” Mr. Sekar said. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
