“Heavy loss due to spectrum allocation”

Plea to allot PCOs without conditions

THANJAVUR: Sanchar Nigam Executives Association general secretary G. L. Jogi alleged on Sunday that the Centre had incurred a loss of thousands of crores of rupees due to improper allocation of spectrum.

The two-day 21st circle conference of the SNEA began here on Saturday. It was addressed by a large number of executives of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited and SNEA leaders including S.L.Reddi, president of SNEA, and Jayapal and Balakrishnan, circle presidents respectively of the SNEA. The deliberations continued on Sunday.

Mr. Jogi said that the conference urged the Government not to allow multinationals to share BSNL’s infrastructure and pointed out that national security had been threatened due to improper allotment of spectrum.

The conference urged the Government that public call offices (PCOs) should be allotted without any condition.
