Two militants killed in Jammu

SRINAGAR: A 25-hour-long gun battle in Ramnagar tehsil of Udhampur in Jammu ended on Monday with the killing of two militants of the Hizbul Mujahideen. Five members of a family were rescued by security forces.

A senior police officer told The Hindu that the militants had entered the house of a Gujjar in Khail village on Saturday. On receiving information, the security forces cordoned off the area and launched an operation early on Sunday morning. Police said there was no casualty on their side.
