ACB raid on checkpost

HYDERABAD: Officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau seized Rs. 71,950 during a surprise check on the Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector checkpost at Chillakallu, on the Vijayawada highway, near Jaggayyapet, in Krishna district early on Sunday. A press release issued by ACB here said the surprise check was conducted following credible information that the RTA motor vehicle inspectors working in the check-post were collecting bribes from lorry drivers.

The officials seized Rs. 34,900 and Rs. 23,010 at the instance of B.R.K. Satya Murthy and V. Rama Krishna, AVMIs, respectively and Rs. 14,040 from the staff employed by AMVIs.
