Probe on into Thali incident: SP

KRISHNAGIRI: Police are interrogating three people in connection with the damage caused to Mary Madha statues at Thali on Saturday night, Superintendent of Police Anisha Hussain said here on Monday.

“We rounded up eight people on Sunday and after interrogation released five on Monday morning. Further investigation is going on. We will soon book the culprits. Peace is prevailing in the area. As a precautionary measure, police forces were posted in the vicinity of the Our Lady’s High School at Melakondapalli village in Denkanikkotai taluk,” Ms. Hussain added.

Thali Union Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam chairman Prakash visited the site and assured the school authorities that he was ready to install the statues on his own.
