“Prabakaran using Tamils as shield”

CHENNAI: If the killing of Sri Lankan Tamils by the Sri Lankan army has to be stopped by Indian intervention, LTTE chief Prabakaran must surrender before the Indian High Commission in Colombo, Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy said here on Monday. Dr. Swamy accused Prabakaran of using innocent Tamils, particularly children, as hostages for his safety in a hideout. “But, like Saddam Hussein, he too will be found and brought to book.” Ms. Jayalalithaa’s demand for extradition of Prabakaran for the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi was a patriotic sentiment, he said. — Special Correspondent
