Annamalai triumphs

CHIDAMBARAM: Host Annamalai, with nine points, at the end of the semifinal league won the title at the South Zone inter-university hockey tournament here on Monday.

Madras, with six points, finished second. Bangalore and Bharathidasan secured one point apiece, but the former was adjudged third on better goal difference.

Semifinal league: Annamalai 1 (Somuraj) bt Madras 0; Bangalore 1 (Nilesh) drew with Bharathidasan 1 (Anbilraj).
