Frequent power cuts hit mills in Virudhunagar

VIRUDHUNAGAR: Hundreds of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam cadres staged a demonstration at Chatrapatti, protesting frequent power cuts that affected mills in the region, on Tuesday.

Addressing the protestors, the party organising secretary, S. Semmalai, assailed the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam government for “failing” to provide uninterrupted power supply.

The workers of the bandage units and spinning mills suffered because of power failure, he said.

Resignation sought

He sought the resignation of the Electricity Minister, N. Veerasamy.

The party district secretary, K.K. Sivasamy, union secretary, M.P. Murgaiah Pandiyan, and MGR Youth Wing secretary, K.T. Rajendra Balaji, were among those participated.
