‘Technology will help in scuttling terrorists’ plan’

Manipal: The former chief of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) P.K.H. Tharakan has said that technology will help security agencies to destroy the designs of terrorists.

He was speaking at the inauguration of “Techtatva,” an inter-collegiate festival organised by the Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) here on Tuesday.

Mr. Tharakan said that the mode of operation of terrorists was a cause for concern. Such nefarious designs could be tackled with the help of technology, he said.

The former Prime Minister Jawaharalal Nehru was instrumental in setting up institutions of excellence that promote science and technology in the country, and these institutions had contributed a great deal to the development and progress of the country, Mr. Tharakan said.

Pro-Vice Chancellor of Manipal University S.S. Pabla welcomed the gathering.
