Sumit Nagal advances

NEW DELHI: Sumit Nagal fought his way past the ninth-seeded Sidhant Deka of Assam winning 7-6(5), 4-6, 7-6(5) in the second round of the under-14 boys section in the DSCL National mini-junior tennis championship at the DLTA Complex here on Tuesday.

While Sumit won his second successive three-setter, the top-seeded Ronit Bisht continued to assert himself, by winning his second successive match without dropping a game.

In the girls’ section, Simran Kaur Sethi defeated wild card entrant Vatsala Pandey 5-7, 6-1, 7-5 in the first round.
