Jewellery stolen

NAMAKKAL: Five unidentified persons decamped with 21 sovereigns of jewellery and Rs. 15,000 cash from a house in Namakiripet near here on Wednesday night.

The police said Ganesan (55), a lorry operator, and his family members were sitting in the hall of their house when a group of five unidentified men stormed into the house and stole the jewels and cash at knife point.

They also assaulted his wife and son.

A case has been registered in this regard.
