Tanishq gold ornaments missing

KRISHNAGIRI: Tanishq gold ornaments worth Rs. 87.23 lakh have been found missing from its logistics company godown at the SIPCOT industrial estate in Hosur. Involvement of private watchmen is suspected.

Tanishq Jewellery, a Tata group concern, has a 1.35 lakh sq.ft. jewellery factory in Hosur SIPCOT industrial complex. According to Hosur District Superintendent of Police V.R. Soundarrajan, the company had entrusted its entire logistics business to Sequel Logistical Private Limited. The finished jewels were kept in a small tiffin pocket-sized boxes and sent to different retail and wholesale outlets from the godown.

The culprits stole 27 boxes of jewels in a phased manner. Sequel Logistics director S. Rajkumar has lodged a complaint with the police.

Titan officials told The Hindu that they had heard about the theft but did not have full details.
