President’s XI takes the honours

Bangalore: President’s XI emerged champion in the KSCA under-19 inter-zonal tournament that concluded here on Wednesday. President’s XI finished with 16 points, well ahead of runner-up Bangalore Zone (10 pts).

The scores: President’s XI 244 for four decl. in 48 overs (Karun Nair 80, Pawan Deshpande 72 n.o., Suraj Sampath 48) drew with Bangalore City XI 67 for one in 26 overs.

Moffusil XI 162 in 63.1 overs (Sachin Bhat 49) drew with Bangalore Zone 76 for five in 30 overs (G.S. Chiranjeevi 50 n.o., Ronith More five for 33).

Combined Moffusil XI 177 in 56.3 overs (Daniel Sequira 48, Abrar Kazi five for 36, Hardik Munoth four for 68) drew with Combined City XI 140 in 36.2 overs (Md. Sarfraz Ashraf four for 20).

Meru shines

Meru J. Yale (47, four for 30) helped Aurobindo memorial School beat CKS English School (Hassan) by three runs in the second phase of the Boost inter-school cricket tournament here.

VVS Sardar Patel School 127 in 32.1 overs lost to Chethana, Tumkur 129 for two in 18.4 overs.

Bangalore HSS 213 for nine in 45 overs (M .Suhas 116 n.o., Arvind four for 35) lost to Delhi PS (South) 113 for one in 23.4 overs (S. Rahul 80 n.o.) Delhi team won on better run-rate. Rain curtailed play.
