Two wins for Belgaum

HUBLI: Belgaum district defeated Gadag district by 182 runs on the second day of the KSCA under-16 inter-district cricket tournament, here on Thursday.

Opting to bat, Belgaum was all out for 220 runs. In reply, Sumant Welling’s spell of eight for 25 helped Belgaum dismiss Gadag for 38 in 15.4 overs.

Earlier on the opening day, Belgaum defeated Dharwad by 49 runs, while Hubli beat Karwar by 112 runs.

The scores: Belgaum 220 in 38.5 overs (Arbaaz Inamdar 60, Sauket Desai 55, P. Abhilash four for 36) bt Gadag 38 (Sumant Welling eight for 25).

Hubli 215 for six in 45 overs (Akshay Angadi 71, Sonak Biswas 57 n.o., Malik Sirur 48) bt Karwar 103 in 34.3 overs (Niranj three for nine, Shushant three for 19).

Belgaum 186 for six in 45 overs (Nagendra Patil 78) bt Dharwad 137 for eight in 45 overs.
