50 killed in Pakistan suicide bomb attack

Islamabad: Fifty people were killed and over 100 others injured on Friday when a suicide bomber struck at a meeting of tribal elders in Pakistan’s restive Aurakzai tribal region. Reports said the attacker drove his explosive-laden car into a gathering of some 500 members of the Ali Khel tribe in the remote town of Khadazai and blew himself up. The tribals had gathered to discuss ways to evict the local Taliban. — PTI
